SIG-11 Mentor Program Update

04/10/2006

In honor of "Eight-Track Tape Day" (April 11), "Rubber Eraser Day" (April 15), and "National Stress Awareness Day" (April 16), SIG-11 is forging forward to initiate a Mentor Program and is currently looking for mentors!

Who is a SIG-11 mentor? Any SIG-11 member who is an active member of RESNA may become a mentor! The SIG-11 Mentor is someone who is willing to share their professional experiences related to the use of computer applications and people with disabilities. They can simply provide support and encouragement through e-mail! In addition, the Mentor is a peer who can convey the benefits of RESNA membership to the Mentee.

As an incentive, RESNA is offering a free SIG membership to the first five volunteers (a $5 value) who become a SIG-11 Mentor for one term. This free SIG membership is in addition to the one SIG each member receives.

If you are interested in becoming a SIG-11 Mentor, or would like to read more detailed information about the program, please visit the Mentor Program webpage. You may also contact me by email or telephone.

Best regards,
