RESNA 2009 Annual Conference
Request for Volunteers
March 14, 2009
Request for volunteers in New Orleans!
Greetings Members of SIG-11,
This year at RESNA's annual conference in New Orleans, the Meetings
Committee is organizing structured tours of the Exhibit Hall. These tours will
be led by individuals who are familiar with an area of technology. Participants
will obtain CEUs as in any other workshop session.
The Meetings Committee is looking for volunteers from our SIG to lead a
tour.
The learning objectives will be something like this -- the objectives are
not yet set in stone:
Identify three manufacturers of ____ technology. (We will discuss what
goes in the blank.)
For each of three different technologies, describe one similarity and
one (or more) substantive difference between comparable products.
For each of three different technologies, identify at least one way a
product can enhance the life of an individual with a disability; and one factor
that may prevent the product from being used to its full potential.
If you are qualified and available to lead one of these guided tours, please
contact Gail Tannenbaum - gtannenbaum@resna.org - at the RESNA office.
I think this is a unique opportunity for members of SIG-11 to get familiar
with new products, and at the same time, contribute to the work of the SIG. So
please volunteer!
Please feel free to discuss this opportunity publicly on the listserv, or
with me privately at japrioli@gmail.com
Sincerely,
Jamie Prioli
