What is the Developers Forum?

The Developers Forum is an opportunity for inventors and manufacturers of computer and communication technology to demonstrate new products in an informal setting along with other manufacturers, practitioners, and end-users. This is an excellent opportunity for expert feedback on emerging products. The forum is held during the annual RESNA 2008 (Rehabilitation Engineering & Assistive Technology Society of North America) Conference. New and small companies not participating in the exhibit hall may find the Developers Forum to be an excellent avenue to reach members of their target market. RESNA and the Computer Applications Special Interest Group (SIG-11) organize this event.

When & Where
This year's Developers Forum will be held in the Computer Tech Lab (Washington B) in the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, VA on Saturday, June 28 from 6 - 8 pm.

Who
The Developers Forum is open to all RESNA conference attendees!

Why
The purpose of the Developers Forum is to provide an informal opportunity for product developers, researchers and manufacturers to meet with clinicians, RESNA attendees and end users. The Forum provides an opportunity to discuss new technology, as well as opportunities to provide feedback on existing technology, and to formulate ideas for new products. The event focuses on products in the areas of computer software / hardware, augmentative communication, and environmental control and is an excellent opportunity for clinicians, engineers, and consumers who use this type of assistive technology to provide input into the development process.

How
The atmosphere for this event is that of a mini-exhibit hall, with each developer having a display table in the computer lab. At the beginning of the Forum, developer introductions will be made to the group-at-large. Those attending the event are encouraged to move freely about the room and mingle with developers and manufacturers.
