Atlas Arm From: Maker Faire New York 2016 From Maker and mechanical engineering student, Stephen Hawes, this completely 3D printed prosthetic arm and hand is breaking through all sorts of barriers presented by traditional prosthetics. It's controlled by the amputee's remaining forearm muscles. It's giving amputees' an option not readily available to them by costing less than $300 to produce. Stephen Hawes is a senior at UConn studying Mechanical Engineering. He's currently working on making the Atlas Arm available to amputees across the United States.
