Demonstrations at Benetech's Open House - 10/25/2017 Math Editor We recognize that math is hard for many students, and the transition to online learning environments has actually made it even more cumbersome for students with disabilities. Benetech’s new math editor is exploring ways to push the limits of how students and educators interact with digital math problems through improved online tools to solve problems, share solutions, ask questions, and learn by doing. Our goal is to provide an accessible math editor tool that serves many types of learner needs and preferences, equipping learners with easier ways to show and track their work. https://benetech.org/lab/math-editor-helps-students --- Bookshare - An Accessible Online Library for people with print disabilities Bookshare is the world’s largest library of ebooks for people that read differently. Our collection has over half a million titles and empowers hundreds of thousands of students and people who cannot read traditional books due to disabilities like blindness, iow vision, and dyslexia. There is a worldwide book famine for people who have disabilities that impacts not only reading, but also their opportunities to succeed. As part of our global Bookshare work we are unlocking learning for them by providing accessible books in vernacular languages. For example, you can experience how Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets can be read in English, Spanish, and Hindi, in ways that work for everyone. https://www.bookshare.org/cms --- "Benetech is a nonprofit that empowers communities with software for social good. Our work transforms how people with disabilities read and learn, makes it safer for human rights defenders to pursue truth and justice, and connects people to the services they need to live and prosper. We’re constantly pursuing the next big social impact." https://benetech.org
