Beneficial Designs participated in the Minden-Tahoe Airport Aviation Roundup From: Beneficial Designs - 10/05/2017 By: Peter Axelson Beneficial Designs took part in the Minden-Tahoe Airport Aviation Roundup at the Minden-Tahoe Airport this past weekend, 7 & 8 October 2017. The US Air Force Thunderbirds performed along with several other acts. "We had two exhibits. Our two displays were a part of a static display of a Cessna Skymaster that I fly for both business and personal travel when I am not leading Beneficial Designs." "One exhibit explained some of the results of our recent research on assistive technology for air travel for passengers with mobility impairments. This research was funded by the Paralyzed Veterans of America's Research Foundation (Grant Award #3028). We had a poster showing the highlights of what we learned during this research. At the airshow, we had some "hands-on" opportunities of some of the current technology, experience some of its shortcomings, and learn about some of our proposed solutions." "The second exhibit provided information about the International Wheelchair Aviators (IWA) and information about how to fly using hand controls."
