WHILL Collaboration with Stanford University From: WHILL News - 04/23/2015 WHILL had the pleasure of teaming up with Stanford graduate and undergraduate students and Instructor David L. Jaffe in an Engineering course entitled “Perspectives in Assistive Technology.” The course seeks to expose students to the engineering, medical, and other social issues facing students and professionals in the design, development, and use of assistive technology, a philosophy that is exactly in line with WHILL! Sarah Cabreros, Justin Diep, and Joaquin Michael Carcache worked to research, brainstorm, design, fabricate, and test a prototype to explore options for improving the experience for WHILL users traveling at night. They used 2 metrics to judge the success of their prototype - visibility for WHILL users and illumination for other drivers and pedestrians. The final design scored very high on both these metrics and also complemented the WHILL aesthetic wonderfully!
