VA Awards Grants to Organizations with Adaptive Sports Programs Aiding
  Disabled Veterans

The US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announces it has awarded a total
of $8 million in grants to 89 organizations with adaptive sports programs for
disabled Veterans and Service members in the Armed Forces.

The grant recipients include national organizations, which prepare high-level
athletes for Paralympic competition; Veterans service organizations; city and
regional partners; and various community groups that offer a wide range of
adaptive sports opportunities for Veterans and Service members, according to
a media release from the VA.

The grants will be used for planning, developing, managing, and implementing
the various adaptive sports programs that are offered, the release continues.
