Magical Bridge Playground: a big hit with disabled kids From: SFGate - 05/06/2015 By: Mary Ellen Hunt Every parent would love to watch his or her child romping mischievously through a playhouse, spinning on a merry-go-round or swinging happily in the air. For parents of children with disabilities, however, the reality is that most playgrounds, even ADA-compliant ones, aren't geared toward safe, stimulating, and fun experiences for their kids. The Magical Bridge Playground, which opened in mid-April in Palo Alto's Mitchell Park, tries to fill that need with a beautiful, mindfully designed space that addresses the needs of not only wheelchair users but also all varieties of ability.
