Kids Can Now Build Lego Attachments for Their Bionic Arm From: Medical Design Technology - 07/13/2015 Now, kids can build their own bionic arms out of Legos! Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar of the Umea University in Sweden has invented a prosthetic arm that is compatible with Legos, so kids can design their arm in any way they can think of. The IKO system features an arm similar to traditional prosthetics, but with a twist-and-lock design that makes it quite easy for kids to put together. By adding a motorized adapter, the standard grip can be swapped out with a Lego grip of the child's own design. Imagine the possibilities - children can customize attachments for their arm by adding a laser weapon or perhaps Megaman's arm cannon. Suddenly an assistive device will feel a lot more like a toy!
