International Day of Persons with Disabilities From: United Nations - 12/03/2015 Today, the world population is over 7 billion people. More than one billion people, or approximately 15 per cent of the world's population, live with some form of disability. 80% live in developing countries. The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is marked around the world annually on December 3rd, as per General Assembly resolution 47/3 of October 14, 1992, to promote awareness and mobilize support for critical issues pertaining to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in society and development.
