Watch This Fifth Grader Light Up as She Is Gifted a 3D-Printed Bionic Hand From: Medical Design Technology - 08/06/2015 The 2015 Special Olympics Games were held in Los Angeles last week. A fifth grader named Ari was there to watch the games. Ari was born without any fingers on her left hand, and casually stopped by a booth run by Google. The booth displayed information about Google's Impact Challenge for people with disabilities. But this became much more than an informational visit for Ari; she was soon met by a group of volunteers from AIO Robotics, who fitted her with a new, colorful prosthetic hand. e-NABLE, a developer of open-source 3D printed prosthetic hands for children, also made an appearance at the booth. Now I don't know about you, but my heart just about melted and drained into my feet as I watched Ari smile, flexing her brand new fingers. If you're interested in watching a child's wildest dreams come true, I definitely recommend taking a look at the video below!
