Analyzing Cures Before They Reach Veterans From: Medical Design Technology - 01/10/2015 A new testing center for medical products used to help veterans has been opened at the Veterans Affairs medical center in Pittsburgh, the VA announced on January 30th. The Center for Medical Product End-user Testing is responsible for evaluating products headed to VA medical facilities across the country. One of the key factors in analyzing effectiveness of products is human factors, or the impact of product design on user performance. The US Food and Drug Administration recommends, but does not require, manufacturers to test the human factors element of their products. Therefore, the VA opened the center to test products on their own before those devices reach patients.
