Blind Mother Receives 3D Printed Ultrasound of Her Unborn Son From: Medical Design Technology - 05/12/2015 This past weekend, a blind mother received a truly remarkable Mother's Day present. 30-year-old Tatiana Guerra lost her vision at the age of 17, rendering her unable to participate in the largely significant pre-natal milestone of seeing her unborn son Murilo for the first time through an ultrasound image. However, after arriving for her ultrasound during her 20th week of pregnancy, Guerra was unexpectedly gifted a 3D-printed relief sculpture of her son’s face. As a result, she was enabled to have an experience that most mothers can only dream of, being able to touch her baby's face before he was born. The result is truly heartwarming - Guerra dissolves into tears as her hands probe the features of her son's face.
