Horowitz Odin Mobile will offer the Huawei Android-based Project Ray phone for the blind along with a couple of Emporia models, using T-Mobile's wireless spectrum. Odin Mobile has launched as a nationwide wireless carrier for the visually impaired. The Rockville, MD-based company will function as a mobile virtual network operator over T-Mobile's airwaves. Project Ray's phone offers calling, Short Message Service (SMS), contact list services, GPS and voice recording. The phone also lets the visually impaired access content such as audio books, newspapers, and magazines. Project Ray also incorporates color identification, picture transcription, and banknote recognition.
