VA, DOD joint office delivers mobile app for PTSD patients From: Government Computer News - 08/09/2012 The creation earlier this year of a joint office of the Veterans Health Administration and the Defense Department’s Office of Information and Technology has borne its first fruit – a mobile application designed to assist people undergoing prolonged exposure (PE) therapy. The app, PE Coach, is being used by both departments to treat post-traumatic stress disorder. It gives PTSD sufferers a central site to track their therapy sessions, record them, complete therapy assignments, and take notes on sessions. The app also offers breathing exercises for better managing anxiety. PE Coach is available for download on iOS and Android devices. VA Chief Information Officer Roger Baker added that the office is working on an entire portfolio of apps.
