Age-Distance wheelchair assists elderly and disabled people while sitting down or getting up From: Damn Geeky Getting up and then again sitting down on a wheel chair can be a real hassle for elderly people who don’t have the muscle power left in their body to exert too much or probably have been pinned down because of some ailment. To assist such people two Taiwanese students, Liao Min-hui and Hsu Chao-sheng from the University College of Design have come up with Age-Distance wheelchair. The main purpose of the wheelchair is to initially set the chair at an angle of 35-40 degrees while sitting so that the person doesn’t fall on the chair with a thud and while getting up raise seat to the same angle to reduce pressure on the knees and legs.
