Science meets art at Northwestern University Prosthesis-Orthotics Center,
where prosthetists-in-training designed and fabricated these prostheses.
NUPOC biomedical engineers tests prostheses and develop new components.
Current projects include development of a socket for highly active
above-the-knee amputees for the US Department of Defense; a prosthetic limb
alignment project for the Department of Veterans Affairs; and assessing the
prosthetic needs of farmers.
