A smart plastic cap helps patients take medication when they are supposed to.
The cap, which can be fitted to standard prescription bottles, flashes and
plays a ringtone when it's time to take a dose. If a patient misses those
cues, it sends a signal to a receiver plugged into a wall socket, which has
the system call the patient's phone with a reminder. The system can also send
reports to family members and the patient's doctor, and it can contact the
pharmacy when a refill is needed.
