Jones Normally a patient who has lost full control of his limbs must relearn how to walk and climb stairs under the guidance of a physical therapist. Now in Japan, engineers are working on what is at least a supplement to that human touch, and perhaps even a substitute for it. Their machine works like a treadmill or a stepping machine that has been provided a guidance system, so that it can literally put a patient through his paces.
