IEEE Member Hopes to Help Blind Regain Sight

People suffering from retinitis pigmentosa, which causes progressive 
damage to the retina, could possibly regain some vision thanks in part to 
the work of IEEE Member Mark S. Humayun. As manager of the US 
Department of Energy's Artificial Retina Project, Humayun has spent the 
past two decades developing an implantable "bionic eye."
