iPhone Finds Its Voice From: Speech Technology - 09/2008 - page 12 Fonix Speech released Fonix iSpeak, a voice activated application for the Apple iPhone 3G on July 9. This new application allows users to initiate several operations simply by speaking a command. With Fonix iSpeak, users can navigate their music libraries and launch a song or playlist simply by saying the name of the artist, song, or playlist. The application also allows users to search contacts and dial with the power of voice. A month earlier, vlingo launched a similar application for select Blackberry smartphones. The application lets Blackberry users compose and send email and text messages, search the Web, open applications, place calls, look up contacts, and send notes to themselves, all by voice.
