Initiative Aimed to Help TBI Vets From: Rehab Management - Rehab Today At a recent press conference that took place at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao announced a new initiative to help employers of veterans and others with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). During the event, the "America's Heroes at Work" Web site was unveiled. This site provides information about TBI and PTSD, and includes tools and guidance on how to implement workplace accommodations and other services that benefit affected individuals and nonveterans who have experienced traumatic events, such as first responders. According to Chao, the initiative also aims to reduce employer concerns and to encourage the hiring of veterans.
