Robot could help disabled to 'walk' From: Reuters - 04/27/2006 Japanese researchers unveil a two-legged robot that could help the elderly and the disabled to walk. The robot dubbed "WL-16R3" is 1.3-meters tall and weighs 68 kilograms (150 pounds) can walk on flat roads on its two legs while a human rides on top and steers. The robot was created by a Joint Research Group of Waseda University and Fukuoka-based robot company TMSK (pronounced TAE-MOO-ZAK). The creators still do not have plans to make the robot available commercially as it can only carry passengers of up to 50kg (110 pounds) due to safety reasons.
