Walter Dan Stiehl will give a presentation entitled "The Huggable: A Therapeutic Robotic Companion for Relational, Affective Touch," a robotic companion developed around research in pet therapy that features a complete sense of touch, voice-coil actuators, and a built-in PC that enables the robot to communicate with the staff of a hospital or nursing home.
