Create the Future - Design and Win!

The fifth annual Emhart Teknologies / NASA Tech Briefs' "Create the Future"
Design Contest recognizes outstanding innovations in product design in four
categories: Everyday Products, Safety, Transportation, and Medical. The
contest is co-sponsored by SolidWorks Corp. and COMSOL, Inc. 

One Grand-Prize Winner will receive a hybrid automobile or $20,000 in cash. A
First-Prize Winner will receive a Panasonic 42" plasma television,
Second-Prize Winners will receive DeWalt Power Tool Combination Kits, and
Merit Prize Winners will receive Black & Decker power tools. 

All qualified entrants receive a limited-edition Rube Goldberg poster as an
entry gift. Winners also receive the recognition and support they need to
bring their ideas from the drawing board to the production line. 

Entries will be judged on four criteria - innovation, manufacturability,
marketability, and cost-effectiveness - and must fit within one of the
following categories: 

    Everyday Products - A significant functional or ergonomic new product, or
    upgrade to an existing product, that improves quality of life. 

    Medical - A mechanical or electromechanical design that improves the
    functionality, performance, or cost basis of medical product(s). 

    Safety - A mechanical or electromechanical device designed to improve
    personal safety during travel, work, recreation, or at home. 

    Transportation - A mechanical or electromechanical design that improves
    the functionality, performance, or cost basis of transportation
    products(s).
