Free Workshop on Brain Computer Interface Technology Learn about the current findings of Brain Computer Interface (BCI) technology from a panel of experts who have just completed an international research and development study. The FREE workshop will be held at the National Science Foundation, Stafford II Building, Room 555, in Arlington, VA on Friday, July 21, 2006. The study focuses on the neural engineering and systems engineering aspects of BCI, including computational algorithms and control methods, to effect synthetic motor movement through neural prosthetic systems in response to neural processes in the brain related to motor movement and the cognitive functions related to motor movement. WTEC's panel, chaired by Dr. Theodore W. Berger, includes experts with broad strength and experience related to Brain Computer Interface technology. The purpose of the study is to: 1. Identify good ideas overseas worth exploring in US R&D programs 2. Identify research opportunities and needs for promoting progress in the field of BCI 3. Identify opportunities for international collaboration 4. Evaluate the position of foreign research programs relative to those in the US For more information and registration forms, visit: http://www.wtec.org/bci/workshop/ Links: International Assessment of Brain-Computer Interface Research http://www.wtec.org/bci/ World Technology Evaluation Center http://www.wtec.org/
