About ASSETS ASSETS 2006 is a technical forum for presenting and disseminating innovative research results that address the use of computing and information technologies to help persons with disabilities. The conference's scope spans special needs associated with speech, motor, hearing, and vision impairments; cognitive limitations; and emotional and learning disabilities. Researchers and developers, from both academia and industry, are invited to meet to exchange ideas and present reports on new hardware and/or software advances related to these areas. ASSETS is traditionally a very friendly and welcoming conference, with a wonderful sense of community among the participants. In 2006, the conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Downtown in Portland, OR. This promises to be a delightful setting for what we hope will be a conference to remember.
