Voice recognition aids disabled From: R&D Magazine - August 2002 - page 39 By; Christopher Boyce Thanks to an adaptation of voice-activated technology developed by students at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, it is now possible for a disabled person's voice to make up for physical impairments. The device combines two motors, speech recognition software, and an exoskeleton styled plastic shell that fits over the arm of the user. Upon voice command, the prosthetic will perform the accorded action of a person with otherwise degenerated muscles. http://www.rdmag.com/features/0208et_aca23.asp
