The Hawaii Education Literacy Project is a non-profit organization devoted to
promoting literacy by making the reading of electronic text an easier and
more pleasurable experience. Their first effort, HELP Read, a Windows-based
reading tool, is free.  

HELP Read:

    Reads Web Pages* 

    Supports both English and Hawaiian Language 

    Allows customization of the pronunciation of mispronounced words 

    Reads text from the Windows® Clipboard, Microsoft Word, text files, or
    the Internet* 

    Contains links to 482 Classic Works of Literature* 

    Highlights words or sentences while reading 

    Permits setting of Reading Speed, Pitch, Volume, and choice from five
    Talking Heads 

    Looks up word definitions*
