Rehabilitation Technology Intern Position Open at the Center for Accessible Technology in Berkeley Learn about assistive technology and provide direct services to adults who have disabilities who are interested in using computers. You will work with two rehabilitation technologists and other Center personnel on a variety of projects, tasks, and programs. Sample Duties: 1. Assist in setting up for and doing evaluations as to the best means of computer access, using a wide range of adaptive technology. 2. Test and trouble-shoot hardware and software. 3. Help evaluate work sites for accommodations. 4. Provide training to consumers on specific pieces of adaptive technology. 5. Assist in writing reports on service delivery, including recommendations, bids, and progress reports. 6. Keep up-to-date on new adaptive technology and other developments in the field of disability. 7. Staff open lab times and demonstrate technology to visitors. Qualifications The Rehabilitation Technology intern position requires: * the ability to learn quickly and independently. * a working knowledge of the Windows operating system. * experience working with individuals who have disabilities. * the ability to work as a team member. * the ability to work well with a diverse range of people. * a vehicle for travel to locations around Northern California. * the ability to set up and transport computer equipment. Salary Range: ($29,120- $33,280 FTE) We have funding for a 60%-65% salaried position which pays $14 to $16/hr, depending on experience. Medical and dental benefits are included.
