The deadline for submission of Instructional Course Proposals for RESNA '98 is SEPTEMBER 30, 1997. The RESNA conference will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota from June 26-July 1, 1998. Instructional course presenters have the opportunity to have either a 4 or 8 hour block of time to share information with their peers. There is also a $250 to $500 honorarium to instructional course presenters. Instructional Program Proposal kits are available from the RESNA office by calling Susan Leone at 703/524-6686 ext 306 or by e-mail to sleone@resna.org Take some of those good ideas that were generated at our SIG 11 business meeting and make it happen!! Instructional Course Ideas: Troubleshooting computer software/hardware access problems Computer access assessments--strategies, techniques, methods used when assessing ability to use a particular device, working with a 'team', preparing for the assessment, etc. Show-n-Tell or case study presentations How to start a computer access evaluation service on a limited budget (what equipment to buy, marketing services, etc.) Developing a PowerPoint presentation Working with interdisciplinary teams Assistive Technology in a managed care setting Computer applications and assistive technology for the pediatric population Computers and Special Education (software solutions for students with learning disabilities,etc.) If you have any other ideas for courses which are not listed above or if you'd like to co-present along with one or more other persons and your looking for another interested party, please contact me and we'll get a message sent out on the SIG-11 distribution list.
