Barbie Home Not Wheelchair Accessible NEW YORK, June 10 (UPI) - Barbie's home is anything but a dream to her new wheelchair-bound friend Share a Smile Becky. The New York Daily News reports that Mattel's popular toy - the Barbie Dream House - does not comply with the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act. Translation: It is not wheelchair accessible. This poses a problem for Becky - who was unveiled last month as America's first mass-produced doll in a wheelchair. The News quotes a Mattell spokeswoman promising that a new product known as Barbie Folding Pretty House - will be wheelchair accessible. It will be available in stores next month.
