GO!: A VIRTUAL TEAM MEETING ON SELECTING ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY The National Center to Improve Practice (NCIP) will sponsor a FREE four-week online workshop on selecting assistive technology, beginning September 23. This workshop will be faciliated by Joy Zabala, Educational Specialist at Region IV Education Service Center in Houston, Texas. By accessing resources at the NCIP Web site and conversing through email, participants will: Learn about the SETT (Student, Environments, Tasks, Tools) Framework - a framework designed by Joy to help people - parents, consumers, teachers, specialists - work together to select assistive technology for students; Use the SETT Framework during a "virtual team meeting" in which participants discuss and analyze a hypothetical case; Engage in conversation with other participants about issues regarding the selection and use of assistive technology; Have access to relevant resources and materials. Participants need an email address and access to the Web to participate. Registration for the workshop is free, but the number of participants is limited.
