To: RESNA SIG-11 Members From: Kevin Caves, SIG-11 Chair Re: SIG-11 Elections At this year's Annual Conference we are to elect a new SIG Chair and SIG Vice-Chair. I am currently looking for nominations for both positions. The SIG offices are held for a period of two years. Duties include preparation of SIG budget, submission of 6 articles per year to RESNA News about SIG activities, coordination of reviews of papers, instructional courses and special sessions for the annual conference, and answering questions from the membership. That is not to say the I do every one of these things by myself! We have established several committees to assist the SIG chair to get these things done. We have worked especially hard to get the review process for papers and courses formalized and I am willing to stay on and oversee that process. Elections will be held at the SIG Business meeting at the Annual Conference this year in Vancouver. We are currently taking nominations for these positions. To hold a RESNA office, you must be a RESNA member in good standing. If you would like to nominate someone for SIG Chair or Vice-Chair, or would like to run yourself, please forward your nominations to Kevin Caves, by FAX 310/803-8892, email 72274.2460@compuserve.com, or the old fashioned way, by phone 310/940-6800. Please provide your name and contact information along with the nominee's name and contact information. There is still time to make reservations if you haven't already done so. Please contact the RESNA office if you need more information, 703/524-6686. Again this year there are SIG-11 events every day of the conference. I would especially like to draw your attention (and attendance) to the Second Annual RESNA SIG-11 Computer Applications Developers Forum and Reception. Please join us to meet with RESNA's computer hardware and software developers! This reception has been arranged to provide an opportunity for computer hardware and software developers to meet with clinicians and users of adapted computer technologies. The goal of the forum is to facilitate information exchange between the groups and provide developers access to RESNA's computer experts (that's you!). The developers will be at the reception seeking feedback on current and upcoming projects. Refreshments will be available but be sure to attend the SIG-11 Business Meeting from 1:15-2:15. SIG-11 members who attend both events will receive a special surprise!
