Subject: Assessment request REQUEST FOR HELP: I am in the process of making a major life change and begin a new position as an Assistant Professor in the Program in Occupational Therapy at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. To prepare for classes, I am asking for your help in gathering copies or references to assistive technology assessments/evaluations that you personally use and/or recommend using. The entire class is on adapting the environment and technology, so assessments in all areas of technology are welcome (e.g., seating and positioning, mobility, adaptive computer access, augmentative communication, job site analysis/reasonable accommodation, accessibility, etc.). All will be kept in a large binder and will be used extensively in our assessment sessions (12 hours per week of student time in doing assessments). I'm interested in the actual assessment (if it is possible to share, of course, your name and affiliation will be kept on it), and other related articles describing its development and usage in the field. I'm especially interested in interdisciplinary evaluations as the students will be working with professionals from many different fields. Your help would be greatly appreciated and your evaluations would be put to good use! In return, each of the students will be required to write a summary paper of the use of your instrument with clients with disabilities and this information will be forwarded to you. You can get these to me by one of two ways: 1. email in electronic form to hammel@roses.stanford.edu BEFORE May 26, or, preferably 2. mail the actual forms and articles to: Joy Hammel, PhD, OTR Assistant Professor Shenandoah University Program in Occupational Therapy 333 West Cork St., 5th Floor Winchester, VA 22601 703/665-1630 Thank you for your help!
