SIG-11 Members:

Your assistance is solicited to identify AT vendors, manufacturers, and developers!

Every year SIG-11 hosts the Developers Forum at the annual RESNA conference. This is a 2-3 hour evening event that allows product developers, researchers, and manufacturers to get together with clinicians, RESNA attendees, and end users to discuss new technology, provide feedback on existing technology, and formulate ideas for new products. The Forum focuses on products in the areas of computer software/hardware, augmentative communication, and environmental control. It is an excellent opportunity for clinicians, engineers, and consumers who use this type of assistive technology to provide input into the development process.

Manufacturers and developers bring their products to demonstrate during this time. The atmosphere is informal and similar to a mini exhibit hall.

Since this is a short event, and would be an excellent opportunity for local companies to experience RESNA and show their products, without a lot of extra hassle or expense. Following is a list of participants at last year's Forum:

Ablenet
Adaptive Computer Systems, Inc.
Alfalab Research Inc.
Applied Future Technologies, Inc.
Assistive Technology, Inc.
Bloorview MacMillan
Center for Rehabilitation Technology
Freedom of Speech, Inc.
Innovative Human Services
Prentke Romich Company
TASH International Inc./Evosoft GMBH
TRACE Research and Development Center

If you know of ANY potential participants in your area, please send their name and phone numbers to me. I will contact them to see if they would be interested in participating. Also, don't limit your ideas to the traditional AT companies. I spoke with a representative from Seiko this week about their new Quicktionary Reading Pen. They happended to be in California, so I mentioned the conference and the Forum. They were very interested in attending.

And if you're attending the CSUN Technology and Disability Conference in LA (March 16-20) and would be willing to talk with a few exhibitors there about participating in the SIG-11 RESNA Developers Forum, please bring along a few printed copies of the Developers Forum registration form. It includes a brief description of the event

Thanks in advance, for all your help!!
