Whew! RESNA 2000 is over and I'm already turning my thoughts to Reno in 2001. Before I go too far, though, I wanted to recognize the efforts of the folks that came forward and worked hard to bring you the SIG-11 Developers Forum event.
Kathy Griffin of UCPI in Boise, ID
Ruth Mendelson of the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services
Fraser Shein of Bloorview MacMillan Centre in Toronto, Canada
John Goldthwaite of Georgia Tech, current SIG-11 Chair
Glen Ashlock of the Ann Arbor Center for Independent Living, outgoing SIG-11 Chair
Patty Benzing of University Hospital School in Iowa, former SIG-11 Chair
Denis Anson and Dave Jaffe (without whom we'd be incommunicado and without equipment!)
Thank you!
Letters of recognition (with pictures) have gone out to each of our Developers but please let them know at any and every opportunity all through the year how much we appreciate their time and participation. And don't forget to pass on any future possible Forum contacts, too!
Now - for next year! I would personally like to see some changes. The first and most important being that all of you who have reflections on this past year's event, suggestions for improvements, ideas and even criticisms (constructive, of course!) step forward and let's hear it! In fact, make absolutely sure that your ideas are heard by becoming a part of a Developers Forum Committee. Many hands make light (and productive) work. This is a great way to contribute to your SIG and become a more active part of RESNA, not to mention meet terrific people and have some fun in the bargain. Bury me with responses :^)
