RESNA 2003 Conference: Topics and Deadlines

10/07/2002

Fellow SIG-11 members:

The annual RESNA conference in Atlanta in 2003 is already shaping up to be one of the best yet. That said, there's still time left to make it even better.

First: Take some time today to identify topics and talks you think are missing from your experience of attending RESNA, and what you think others would want to see. Think about those of us who are considered seasoned professionals, and those of us who think we're still just beginning. What would bring you back? What would bring back others?

Then: Write up a proposal for a half- or full-day preconference training session, or a 75-minute Workshop (formerly known as Concurrent) session, and send it in to the RESNA conference planners. (The Workshop format now provides an enormous amount of flexibility to tailor-make a session to fit your subject and goals. The Scientific paper and poster sessions are still included in the conference.) I've pasted a bunch of related info into this message, below my signature. If you don't think you have something to contribute, think about the people you know who do, and encourage, bug and badger :) them to submit a proposal! They are due on 10/14.

The conference is now focused on 3 tracks: Research, Practice and Service Delivery, and Policy. Each of us in SIG-11 is involved in at least one of these areas. It's time for us to use the new formats of the conference to spread the news, share our secrets, and create new associations and collaborations.

SIG-11 is one of the biggest groups in RESNA, and always one of the more active at the conference. Let's build on our strengths and show it in Atlanta!

Sincerely,
