AAC Concurrent Sessions Solicited for RESNA 2002

Hi Sharon,

Do you know which SIG-11 people are involved in AAC? Could you please forward this message to them (or perhaps to all of your members)? RESNA is soliciting proposals for Concurrent Sessions in AAC. Anything you do to encourage or cajole people to submit AAC proposals will be appreciated, I am sure!

In looking over the proposals for Concurrent Sessions, there weren't any for AAC (Topic #2) or the new Professional Skills/Development (Topic #9). I am a little concerned that we didn't get any for AAC. Granted there were only a couple last year, but AAC is a BIG part of AT and should have a larger presence at RESNA.

I have contacted a couple of people to see if they would be interested in submitting proposals, with no luck so far. Do any of you know someone who may be interested? If we don't get any, it's not the end of the world and we don't want a session just for the sake of having one. Nonetheless, if this continues, speech therapist are more likely to ask "What can RESNA do for me?"

Some areas that would be of interest include developing new technologies (Dynavox is coming out with a new product), literacy development, and how it may be implemented in AAC (Caroline Musselwhite).

Thanks,
