Design with audience in mind

Webmasters have a wide variety of resources to guide their efforts in making
Web sites meet Section 508 Access Board requirements. The Justice Department
and the General Services Administration have sites devoted to accessibility
issues, and some departments have issued compliance guides, with examples of
correct code. In the drive to achieve accessibility, however, it can be easy
to overlook the basics.

Tech vendors seek access for all

Beginning June 21, all vendors selling to the federal government are
officially required to provide versions of their products and services to
agencies, which can then accommodate people with disabilities. A by-product
of the new regulations is an increased industry focus on accessibility, which
is being built more and more into standard product offerings.
