Report: Digital Divide Widens 

The Commerce Department says minorities are gaining access at a quick pace
but lag behind the national average.

Because they tend to be older and enabling technology is expensive, people
with disabilities use the Internet and computers far less than people without
disabilities do. Nearly 60 percent of people with a disability have never
used a personal computer, compared to just less than 25 percent of people
without disabilities. Meanwhile, 21.6 percent of people with disabilities
have access to the Internet, compared to 42.1 percent of those without
disabilities.
