Scientific programme
Will consist of plenary and parallel sessions. Tutorials will be organised
during the pre-conference time. Workshops and scientific demonstrations will
be organised in conjunction with the conference. 


The programm will offer

    Pre-conference activities organised by AAATE's Special Interest Groups
    (SIG) ^BRehabilitation Robotics' and ^BEducation and Training' on October
    31st, 1999 

    A keynote address by Ilse Brusis, Minister of Employment, Social Affairsa
    and Urban Development, Culture and Sports of Northrhine-Westphalia 

    A keynote address by Magdalena Hoff, Vice-President of the European
    Parliament 

    A number of hands-on-sessions in relation to computer access, databases,
    Internet, software, .... etc.  

    An ICIDH II presentation by the WHO 

... and further presentations by leading invited speakers and free paper
contributors. 

A special day - Deutschlandtag - with presentations in German will complete
the scientific programme.

Joint Programme
In line with the opportunity to combine two important events in the field of
assistive and rehabilitation technology, a joint programme of the AAATE
Conference '99 and the REHA international is planned for participants, e.g. 

    The registration fee for full registration and for accompanying persons
    includes free entrance to the REHA international for all exhibition days 

    Registered participants and accompanying persons have the opportunity to
    take part in the official opening of the REHA international on November
    3rd, 1999 

    Guided, thematic tours of the REHA international will be offered on
    November 3rd  and 4th, 1999 

    Special, thematic presentations and demonstrations of well-known
    exhibitors at REHA international 

    DEUTSCHLANDTAG with presentations and papers in German language take
    place in the REHA Forum on November 5th, 1999
