Mike Rosen presents in the Emerging Role of Telemedicine in Home Healthcare for the Elderly Concurrent Session

Technology for remote communication and exchange of data between clinicians and elderly patients is advancing from experimental trials into common use. This session will examine sources of demand for telehealthcare, current and near-future status of the technology, results of clinical trials, barriers to rapid implementation, and potential benefits to care providers and recipients. We will study applications of both video-based communication and non-image data transfer and their integration into home (or institutional) health care delivery. We will also extend a special invitation to manufacturers of telehealth equipment to exhibit at this RESNA conference.
